Kenneth Allen - Civic Duty Award recipient for February 2021

The Humane Society of Hobart has recently received $5,000 in vital operational funding from Attorney Kenneth Allen of the Kenneth Allen Law Group. Attorney Allen is no stranger to helping community organizations in need of support. 


We are proud to join the many hardworking and dedicated community organizations that Attorney Kenneth Allen supports. Attorney Allen donated $5,000 through the Indiana Neighborhood Assistance Program Grant. Attorney Allen is recognized at the February HSH Civic Duty Award winner for The Humane Society of Hobart for his lifesaving donation and compassion for pets and pet families in northwest Indiana.


HSH Executive Director, Jennifer Webber, recognized Attorney Allen with the HSH Civic Duty Award on March 10, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at Kenneth Allen Law Group 1109 Glendale Boulevard, Valparaiso, Indiana.

Ms. Mallori Lucas - Civic Duty Award recipient for January 2021

The Humane Society of Hobart received vital donations and funding from Union Township students in Ms. Mallori Lucas’s English class.  Ms. Lucas asked students to write persuasive letters to companies, business, and donors to support The Humane Society and its mission.


As a result, the students have secured over $4,000 in funding and supplies for our shelter pets and the hardworking staff including, pet toys, pet food, pet treats, pet collars, pet harnesses, safety boots for employees, sweatshirts for employees, cash donations, and so much more.  Business support from the community who responded to the persuasive appeal for vital donations include HECO, Maple Hill Auto Group, Lighthouse Construction, Nature’s Animals, Mars Petcare, Alverez Law Office, Greenies, PetSafe, Chicago Health and Fitness, KDP Graphics, Lumber Jax Flannels, Ruff Luxury Inn, The Finishers, Jeff and Sue Rietveld, T. Stevens, S. Van Til, Milkbone, and Larson’s Pet Shack. 


Ms. Mallori Lucas receives the Humane Society of Hobart “Civic Duty” Award for the month of January for her commitment to providing an amazing learning experience for her students and undeniable dedication to homeless pets in need. Her award was presented on Friday, January 26, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Union Township High School.
