Help Us Save Lives Through Trap-Neuter-Release! 🐾💙

Feral and stray cats deserve compassion, not suffering. At the Humane Society of Hobart, our Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR) program is a humane and effective solution to controlling the stray cat population, reducing the number of homeless kittens, and improving the lives of community cats.

🐾 What is TNR?

Trap-Neuter-Release is a life-saving program that helps feral and stray cats live healthier, safer lives. Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ Trap – Feral cats are safely humanely trapped by trained volunteers.

2️⃣ Neuter/Spay & Vaccinate – The cats receive spay/neuter surgery and essential vaccinations to prevent disease.

3️⃣ Ear-Tipping – A small tip of the ear is painlessly removed to identify that the cat has been sterilized.

4️⃣ Release – The cat is returned to its outdoor home, where it can live a safer, healthier life without reproducing.

🐾 Why TNR Matters:

✔️ Prevents Overpopulation – One unspayed female cat can produce hundreds of kittens in her lifetime.

✔️ Reduces Suffering – Stops the cycle of disease, starvation, and homelessness.

✔️ Protects Community Cats – Allows them to live safely in managed colonies while preventing future litters.

✔️ Is Proven Effective – Studies show that TNR reduces feral cat populations over time while improving their health and behavior.

💙 We Need Your Help!
