What is the One-Of-A-Kind Pet Portrait event?
It’s time to put some more “fun” back in fundraising… if you donate to the animals at Humane Society of Hobart, we’ll draw your pet. The catch? We’re a whole lot better at caring for animals than we are at drawing them. We have a pool of serious artists, staff and volunteers standing by, eager to turn your animal into a timeless work of art (or at least make you laugh). You *might* get one of our extremely talented artists, but we’ll be honest… you might get one of us who haven't drawn since 8th grade.  HSH takes in thousands of animals every year and we rely on donations to make that work possible, but it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun while we raise those funds!
How do I get a drawing of my pet?
TO ORDER after February 2022, SEE THE ABOVE LINK to order from Gail.
Artists' Guidelines:
You will get an email from events@hshobart.org with a photo to begin working on. Please respond to this email with “Received” so we know you got the email.
Please do artwork on 8 ½ x 11 paper.
Please write the name of the person or animal’s name in pencil on the back of the artwork so it will be easy to keep track of when we give the original to the owner at a later date.
You can use the medium of your choosing- pencil, pen and ink, digital, watercolor, acrylic, oil or chalk pastels, charcoal, etc.
Try to do your best, but it does not have to be perfect. We want these to look decent, but if we get a lot of entries we will also want to turn them around as quickly as possible.
Please try to get finished portraits back no later than 3 days of receiving the photo, as donors are anxious to get their portrait and we have other photos waiting to be made into portraits.
Once complete, take a photo of the front and back of the artwork and send it to events@hshobart.org so that we can post a side-by-side with the original photo on the Facebook Fundraiser page and our website.
Originals need to be given to the Humane Society of Hobart ASAP so they can be given to the pet owner.
Student artists can earn Service Hours for school, clubs or organizations, so please keep track of your time and we are happy to sign off on your service hours as long as you follow these guidelines.
Your name will be listed as the artist on our FB post and the website. If you go by a different name for your artwork or you would like to remain anonymous, please let us know.
Thank you so much for sharing your talents to help our animals!!
